Professional Experience

Mr. Rivas is an associate attorney, providing legal and consulting advice in administrative, energy, and public utility law matters.

Mr. Rivas previously worked as a Senior Policy Associate and then Regulatory Counsel for the NW Energy Coalition, focusing on matters such as demand-side management, rate design, and resource procurement in Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Prior, Mr. Rivas worked on issues pertaining to federal climate legislation.

Mr. Rivas received his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, graduating summa cum laude in 2022. Nearly 20 years earlier, he graduated with a B.A. in political science from the University of Georgia.

In his free time, he enjoys watching his kids play soccer, baseball, ballet, and many other activities. He also enjoys coaching and playing soccer, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and generally recreating outdoors.
